Matte paint job or vinyl wrap

Does your vehicle have a matte paint job or vinyl wrap? If yes, we have professional insider information on how to correctly and professionally wash your car!

Please keep in mind that you need to be extra careful with matte colours to keep the gloss off the paint surface when washing and taking care of your matte paint and vinyl!

Charles Classen, senior manager at Toyota’s body and paint insurance division suggests using special “matte paint care products” but we are not in a position to suggests any specific brand. You should select products for matte paint and matte vinyl wrap that does not contain fillers, gloss enhancers or traditional waxes to ensure that matt paint or vinyl wrap retains the same level of matte.

One must not increase the gloss. Matte wash shampoo, paint cleaner spray, paint sealant and final finish detailing spray should contain a pH-balanced component suitable for matte surfaces. If you have not done so in the past we suggest you source a suitable product and consult with professional suppliers as soon as possible.

At the moment, there are a very limited amount of vehicle models that come from the factory with matte paint surfaces but we are noticing more of our customers are applying matte vinyl to their vehicles to do advertising, protect the paint or achieve unique colours.

It is very easy to forget to use a suitable wash and care product. So please also check and make sure to read your chosen cleaning products very carefully.
